GET TO KNOW PARKER
This young, fast-growing community just 28 miles southeast of Denver sits at 5,900 ft. Previously known by Colorado natives as a “blink and you miss it” town, Parker has seen tremendous growth in the past decade. The town now has a population of 54,400 people.
Parker was settled in 1864. It didn’t become a municipality until 1981. Parker was originally a hunting area for Native Americans. The first sign of settlement in the area was the Pine Grove Post Office built in 1862 by Alfred Butters to service traders, trappers, frontiersmen and gold seekers coming to the area. Parker has a wide variety of homes, from new builds in master planned communities to mid-century classics and ranches situated on a few acres. Douglas County Schools, an award-winning school district, serves Parker kids. With a vibrant community, a passion for the arts and frequent wildlife sightings, it’s not hard to see why it has become such a popular place to settle down. A vibrant parks and recreation district offers residents access to well-maintained trails and parks making an active lifestyle easy. The annual Parker Days festival brings the whole town together for a weekend of concerts, shopping and fun. |
