GET TO KNOW Sedalia
Once a stop on the Rio Grande Railroad known as Plum Creek, Sedalia was formally named in 1872 when the Sedalia post office was opened.
Today Sedalia is surrounded by new developments but has the quaintness of a small community. The town maintains several older builds and homes. A few craft shops, restaurants and a biker bar make Sedalia fun for residents as well as visitors driving through. For a truly Colorado experience, you can take a drive down highway 105 and if you look west you are likely to see the elk herd that often hangs out in the area. On the weekends Sedalia is a hub for Harley’s. Between the Harley’s and the road bikes cars will have to fight for a parking spot. The town of Sedalia is home to 206 people, with many more in the surrounding area, and is located in unincorporated Douglas County. Sedalia is known for its wide selection of horse property and horse trails with most homes on lots of 5 acres or more. Easy access to Castle Rock and Denver means you get the small town feel without the small town inconveniences. |
